In 2023, the OVHcloud Training Center chose Bealink LMS and Bealink TMS to help achieve its goals and to create the “Waze of learning”!

The deployed solution is called SkillHub within OVHcloud.

03 CONTEXT & CHALLENGES

The “Waze of learning” project aims to guide managers and employees toward the content best suited to their IT and leadership development needs, taking into account their available time and current skill levels. The goal: to move away from the traditional training catalog model.

By “Waze of learning,” OVHcloud means:

  • Knowing where to go: What strategic skills should I acquire?

  • Knowing how to get there: Which development methods should I prioritize?

  • Knowing how much time to invest: Choose the right format and duration (books, conferences, e-learning, virtual classroom training, etc.).

  • Finding the best route from my starting point: Thanks to adaptive learning, which recommends the most suitable learning options.

01 Align Training Center teams around a content strategy by skills hub
Shifting from a traditional instructional design role to that of a skills developer through content curation requires a change in mindset and working methods.

02 Adapt existing training tools
Highlight future strategic skills, integrate diverse learning content, run skill assessments, and deliver personalized recommendations.

03 Identify required and emerging skills to build the hubs
The skills matrix is a key priority: all learning content must be mapped to one or more management or IT competencies.

04 Build a differentiated content strategy through curation
Curate high-quality, self-service content to be integrated independently into SkillHub*, while offering a user experience on par with leading e-learning platforms.

05 Roll out adaptive learning to recommend relevant content
Diagnose individual needs and offer a variety of formats — this will become the new way to build skills at OVHcloud.

06 Communicate, communicate, communicate
Training marketing is essential to change habits, demonstrate that traditional training is not the only development path, and empower every employee to take charge of their learning journey.

04 THE SOLUTION

SkillHub : The “Waze of Learning”

Through SkillHub, OVHcloud’s Training Center empowers employees to develop their skills autonomously. To achieve this, the team has designed custom skill hubs within SkillHub, each focused on key competencies and aggregating a wide range of learning formats in a single place.

 

Each hub brings together different learning formats and tools to support employees in their professional development. SkillHub allows users to select a skill they want to develop and define their current proficiency level — either through self-assessment or via a built-in diagnostic test.

 

These assessments are embedded in the platform to help guide learners toward the most relevant content.

By focusing on content curation, OVHcloud aims to optimize training budgets while delivering a personalized learning experience.

 

OVHcloud has adopted a “Skills-Centric” approach, combining curated content with assessments and validation to guide learners effectively. Personalized recommendations are generated based on learners’ performance in assessments, and suggested training options include clearly defined prerequisites.

 

 

With comprehensive skills mapping and tailored recommendations for training or learning resources, the OVHcloud Training Center fosters employee engagement and supports the development of the targeted skills.

The goal of SkillHub is to accelerate skills development by providing personalized, proactive support throughout each employee’s learning journey.
